There is representation at regional level from:

- TYPTOW (Too Young for Pension, Too Old to Work)
- Age Concern
- Alzheimer’s Society
- Arts Council / Equal Arts
- Association of NE Councils
- Department of Work and Pensions
- Equality and Diversity Forum
- Government Office North East
- Help the Aged
- Newcastle University (Institute for Ageing and Health)
- North East Regional Assembly
- Regional Development Agency, One North East

The Partnership Board is established and takes responsibility for the management of years ahead’s work. The Partnership Board, numbering no more than 25, aims to have a membership made up of representatives of regional organisations and older people’s groups in the ratio 50:50. The Partnership Board will meet at least 4 times per year and the full forum will meet at least once annually.
Any funding requirements will be subject to Finance Sub-Group approval. The launch of years ahead took place in January 2005.
