Getting Involved
There are two key ways you can get involved in Years Ahead through affiliating to Years Ahead or nominating a representative from your organisation to the Partnership Board.
Years Ahead Affiliation
If your organisation is not already represented on Years Ahead’s Partnership Board and you would like to get involved in the work of the Forum then there is also an opportunity to affiliate to Years Ahead. This affiliation allows you to keep in touch with all the activities and opportunities created by Years Ahead. Affiliated organisations are also given the opportunity to nominate a candidate for election during the Partnership Board election process.
There are no costs involved in affiliation and it is a simple as filling out a form with basic details to ensure the Forum is able to keep in touch with your organisation.
To find out more about Years Ahead affiliation please contact the Years Ahead Coordinator, Kasia Kurowska (kasia.kurowska@ncl.ac.uk)
Representation on Years Ahead’s Partnership Board
Years Ahead election calls are triggered by either the end of tenure or resignation of existing Board Members. There are two main categories by which an organisation can be elected to the Years Ahead Partnership Board in a voting capacity. The 2 categories are:
- Older people’s local forums from across the North East
- Local and regional older people’s representative organisations and affiliated organisations with an interest in age-related issues and demographic change
The Forum also has a select number of non-voting representatives of co-opted bodies that engage with Years Ahead in Partnership work that have a position within the Board. These bodies are usually statutory, Third or private sector organisations.
Look out for Election call information in the news and events section of the Years Ahead website.
Any specific questions on the election of the Years Ahead Partnership Board can be directed to the Years Ahead Co-Ordinator, Kasia Kurowska (kasia.kurowska@ncl.ac.uk)
